Schaffarczyk et al. 2022, Validity of the Polar H10 against criterion ECG
Validation of the Polar H10 chest strap against criterion ECG in 25 adults at rest and across incremental cycling. Heart-rate and RR-interval bias was small with tight limits of agreement at all intensities; the strap agreed closely with ECG. (The derived HRV index DFA-a1 degraded at high intensity, but that is HRV, not heart rate.) Corroborated by Gilgen-Ammann et al. 2019 (H10 beat detection ~99% vs Holter ECG) and Pasadyn et al. 2019 (chest strap most accurate device during treadmill running). Strong for heart rate.
