RCT (n=48) comparing high-load progressive heel-raise strength training (with a towel under the toes) against plantar stretching, both with shoe inserts. The strength group had lower pain and better function at 3 months; outcomes converged by 12 months, so the main gain was faster early relief. Moderate (single small RCT).
