Franke et al. 2014, Osteopathic manipulative treatment for low back pain (systematic review)

BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised trials of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) for non-specific low back pain. OMT produced clinically relevant reductions in pain and improvements in function in acute and chronic non-specific low back pain, and in low back pain in pregnant and postpartum women. The size and shape of the benefit mirror the wider spinal-manipulation evidence: a real, modest effect for low back pain, consistent with what chiropractic and physiotherapy manipulation achieve.
