Bischof et al. 2024, collagen peptide supplementation with training systematic review and meta-analysis

This systematic review and meta-analysis pooled 19 RCTs (768 participants) examining collagen peptide supplementation combined with long-term physical training in healthy adults. Tendon cross-sectional area improved with a standardised mean difference of 0.67 (p = 0.01), fat-free mass by SMD 0.48, and maximal strength by SMD 0.19; the authors recommended 15 g daily for at least eight weeks as an adjunct to resistance or concurrent training. Certainty of evidence ranged from moderate (body composition) to very low (tendon mechanics), placing this in the moderate-evidence tier.
