Albillos-Almaraz et al. 2025, Intermittent pneumatic compression for muscle recovery (meta-analysis)

Systematic review and meta-analysis of 27 studies (554 participants) of intermittent pneumatic compression for muscle recovery (“From Fads to Facts”, Strength and Conditioning Journal 47(4)). It found a small reduction in perceived muscle soreness but no clear superiority over a static compression garment and little effect on objective performance recovery, corroborating the modest, largely perceptual benefit. Moderate, mostly perceptual.
